Marching Band participation is an exciting element of the parade.  We hope YOUR band will enter to attend the 75th Annual Cambridge-Dorchester County Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 7, 2024. The parade begins at 5:00 PM with the lineup starting at 4:00 PM. We would love to have your band attend our parade to exhibit their talents and commitment. If you are returning, we are glad to have you back. If you are new to our parade, we say welcome! This year’s theme is "A Diamond Parade".

Each Middle and High School band in attendance will receive a participation stipend of Two Hundred Dollars ($200).

Each Elementary Band in attendance will receive a participation

stipend of One Hundred Dollars ($100).

In addition to participation stipends, we will up the ante by offering Prize Money to be awarded to the top-placing bands.

For the 2024 parade, we are breaking away from the NJA for judging, as many have voiced a preference to alternate judging platforms. This year we are so very pleased to employ a four-person panel of out-of-state judges, all of whom collectively are MAPS, WGI, and/or US Bands affiliated. Our judges include some of the best, all of whom boast on resumes MAPS, WGI, and US Bands championship titles and/or titles in the DCA experience.

The following reflects the prizes associated with high-score placing:

High School 1st Place: $200

High School 2nd Place: $150

High School 3rd Place: $125

Middle School 1st Place: $150.00

Middle School 2nd Place: $125.00

Middle School 3rd Place: $100.00

Trophies Awarded

High School 1st, 2nd, and 3rd

Middle School 1st, 2nd, and 3rd

Best Drum Major, Best Band Front, Best Percussion, Best Winds/Brass Best Band Overall

Elementary programs will receive a certificate of participation, in addition to stipends. Elementary programs may also qualify for a trophy in the overall categories. Following, please find an "updated" entry form for this year's Cambridge-Dorchester County Christmas Parade. You will also find a list of parade rules that are an important part of making this year’s parade a huge success.

We hope you will join us!

Due to rescheduling difficulties, we will not have a rain date for the event. Please join us on Saturday, December 7, 2024, to showcase your school's talent!
